2017/07/10 2017 Computex Taipei EEN Brokerage Event

Computex Taipei, which has been a leading international B2B ICT and IoT trade show for the past decades, is fast evolving into a global startup platform.

Evolving in sync with the global ICT trend, COMPUTEX 2017 positioned itself in building a global technology ecosystem that focused on five main sectors, namely AI and Robotics, IoT applications, innovation and startups, business solutions, and gaming and VR. The event attracted 41,378 international visitors from 167 countries, or a 1% increase from that of last year. InnoVEX, meanwhile, attracted 14,977 visitors during its three-day run, which experienced a 36% increase in visitor attendance from last year.

Computex Taipei 2017 also featured an EEN brokerage event, which was held on 31st May by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and co-organized by EEN partners Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl), ALPS - Enterprise Europe Network from Italy and ARC Consulting Ltd from Bulgaria. This was the first event of such kind during Computex, which attracted 38 company representatives who had took part in a total of 35 one-on-one meetings. The meetings concluded with the creation of some USD 1.5 million in business deals. The event also helped Taiwanese companies expand their market into Europe.

Ms. Arnaudova of Komaks Ltd. from Bulgaria mentioned that “Taiwan is the best source and the reason for my travel to Taiwan is to meet with suitable keyboard manufacturers”. To facilitate cooperation between both sides, EEN Taiwan had arranged meetings for Komaks Ltd. and two of the world’s major keyboard manufacturing enterprises, Sunrex Technology Corp. and LiteOn Technology Corp.. After the meeting, Ms. Arnaudova stated, “Everything was perfect. We expect to have further business relationships with Taiwanese companies and are willing to join the event next time.”

COMPUTEX showcases a complete ICT supply chain, and is helping to facilitate an IoT and AI ecosystem. To promote Taiwan’s ICT technology on the global stage, and also to increase cooperation with foreign companies, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Taiwan will continue to partner with other EEN members in the future to organize the event.
